Wanted to try a new dip or spread for your sandwiches? Try this easy to make, no-cooking dal chutney (lentil dip).
It is a quick recipe that requires no cooking. You can use it as a side dish for your rolls, fried chicken, or as a sandwich spread.
The main ingredients of this recipe are red lentils and garlic. Lentils are an excellent source of plant-based protein and fibre. They are also low in sodium and fat, high in folate, potassium and antioxidants. Garlic is known for its health benefits. They improve your cholesterol level, reduce blood pressure and boost your immunity. I have used raw garlic cloves but if you are not comfortable with it, it can be replaced with dry garlic powder.
As it is winter and I have lots of coriander leaves from my kitchen garden, I have added a handful of chopped coriander leaves in the mix too. It improves the colour and the aroma of the dal chutney.
So, without much ado, here is the recipe for the easy plant based dal chutney.
